Our Story

At Silver Lining Maine Coons, our kittens are lovingly raised in the heart of our family. With four children (ages 7, 9, 11, and 13), two dogs, six cats, a bird, and multiple lively aquariums, our home is full of companionship and care. Pets have always been an integral part of our lives, and today we share that passion with our children—working together to nurture kittens who will bring joy and love to yours.

Our Philosophy

We believe pets are for life. They are not “just animals,” but cherished family members. Our goal is to raise healthy, well-rounded, and social kittens who will become lifelong companions in their new homes.

Small-Scale, High-Standard Breeding

As dedicated, small-scale breeders, we prioritize quality over quantity. We welcome only 1–2 litters per year to ensure every kitten receives the highest level of care, attention, and socialization. This approach allows us to place each kitten confidently into a forever home.

Lifelong Commitment

Every kitten we produce remains our responsibility. Should circumstances ever prevent an owner from keeping their kitten, we will always welcome them back. Our promise is that none of our kittens will ever contribute to shelter overcrowding.

We are here to support you throughout your journey with your new furry family member.

Historical Uses

Historically, Maine Coons served as indispensable farm and ship cats, valued for their exceptional ability to control rodent populations. Their intelligence, strength, and agility made them ideal companions for early settlers and sailors. By the late 19th century, Maine Coons had gained popularity in cat shows, with one named "Cosey" winning Best Cat at the first major U.S. cat show in 1895.
